Yeay!

Due to my stupidity, I named this different than my lj acc *sigh

I'm Sofia, currently living in the US. I'm old enough to shock my friends that I'm still supporting J-pop idol (lol) (who cares). Have no rl friends to share my Arashi love. Found out that there's this lovely communities over lj and dw that I can join to fangirl about Arashi together ^^v

I'm so behind on Arashi things. I started actively being a fan probably last September. So there's a lot to catch up. I love reading old blogs discussing the new releases at that time or their concert reports. Comparing to the last concert reports, Arashi hasn't changed that much huh? They're still full of member-ai, which is one reason why I love this group so much.

Well, this acc will pretty much filled with me flailing about Arashi, not much different than my lj. Although I'm still trying to figure out how to post properly. I'm so not a blog writer..

...attend one of Arashi's concert, I'll be that fan who only buys a penlight and brings no uchiwa. Because I wouldn't know whose uchiwa should I bring. I love them all and I feel guilty if I bring only one of their uchiwa. Don't want to make other members jealous. Hahaha. I know that's not how it goes and that there's a group uchiwa, but I want to focus on their performance and not on what I have in my hands.

I can dream, right? Although I'm 100% sure won't be able to attend their concert 😁.

What I can do now is re-watching their concerts on Youtube. I've been doing it since the first day they upload them. Yes, every day. Haha. It's unfair though, makes me want to watch all their concerts. And now that my source is gone, I need to find a new one, when I find the time between my study. Nothing but regrets *sniffs* should've download them then and there.

It's been these many days I've rewatched untitled, I started to notice some trivial things, like how thicc Sho's butt is or how apparent are Aiba's upper arm's veins. I'm ashamed of myself. Hahaha.

I'm listening to untitled concert in the background while studying which is very distracting. Hahaha. Now I make it as a reward after a full day of studying. I feel motivated that way. So satisfying. It's either their concerts or shinya shokudo. Always love watching those series while eating my lunch or dinner. And I just had my dinner. I tried making the steamed hamburg steak by Oguri Yuu-san that Ohno-san loved so much. It's not identical for sure, because I have to figure out my own sauce, but the idea of steaming the hamburg steak is brilliant! At first I thought it's because I mixed medium tofu in it, but no, it's because of the steaming process. It's become chewy in a very good way, and very juicy! I don't know how the flavor stayed inside the hamburg after adding that much of water. I'm gonna use this method from now on.

I won't continue my study after dinner, because that's usually a bad idea. So, I'm gonna head to Youtube. It's untitled time! Woohoo!

Bye!

I just watched the 2 story-telling videos on Youtube. It's so entertaining. They're giving a lot for their fans. I'm a spoiled and happy fan 😎. There will be more during this lockdown time. Although I wish they would stop going out to film and stay home (just look at Sho's case, I'm still worried until now 😣). But then again, I'm gonna take what they're giving.

The resurrection of WWG is a nice surprise, too. And that almost daily IG story post. I saw Jun's posts last night. Although I'm not 100% agree with him kind of "promoting" water-fasting at a time like this. There's disclaimer, too, but still... I'm gonna end this here, because it's gonna end up like a lecture. I'm just gonna wait for Sho's update. Hopefully he'll update us on his condition now.

There's one more thing I've been willing to write here. I don't usually like to write controversial things, but I need a space to dump this somewhere. I almost follow toxic fans on socmed. They're hardcore 1 member fan, and hate other members (plus will block anyone that follows them who post about other members). I've been hearing about those fans who only wanted his solo album, but this is the first time I encounter them personally. I'm a fan of him, too, but that doesn't mean I hate other members. I mean why would you hate them? He's him because of the other 4, too, like he always says. Well, it's up to them if they want to hate the other members, I just don't get it. They even go as far as criticizing their every moves, like how it's a common sense that if you have a slight fever, you don't have to come to work, nothing to be praised for. Or how they blamed the concert producer when it's time for their idol to do his special dance/solo, but the camera view is not on him, but on "trivial" things like fireworks, or other members waving their hands to fans. I mean... So what if the producer has the chance to look directly to camera and do fan service, while your idol doesn't? He's not the type who likes camera anyway. Maybe what they want is for all the cameras to focus on him only. Please think of the balance 😑. There's also this, when in the episode of one of the member's TV show, he said that he never does vocal training, OMG, how they attack the man. Comparing with their idol who even built a soundproof room to train his singing skill. They always act like he's a god or someone who has no flaws. Please, I adore him, but he's human, too. Let him be human. I'm not gonna say other things they said. It's so hurtful to find those posts which overpraised someone, but throwing the other member under the bus. What if they read them? They also criticizing the story-telling posts, that it's unimportant, they only want to hear their idol sings and dances. I really hope he never being made to do whatever he doesn't want to do (like sing! or dance! during IG live). I'm not trying to blame people or trying to dictate how they should live their lives, they're free to live the way they wanted to, it's their responsibilities. I need to stop clicking the "translate" button, I think. Or should I even go further to not following the tag? Nothing good comes from following it.

But to the people out there, it's free to hate or love someone. I just have no energy left to spend on hating people. It's so refreshing if I try to let go of the anger and hatred. Learnt it the hard way.

UPDATE: I decided to keep following the tag. I find it hilarious now that they blame every 'failure' on other members. Really entertaining.
orenjitaiyou: (Default)
They're doing it remotely with Jun as the MC. He's calling the member one by one. The other members are using the smile up project account. Why not personal account?

It was so refreshing to watch them. It's like watching their personal conversations, but with screenshot time. I wish they would share how they train themselves at home though. A rajio taisho? haha. And Jun, please don't strain your body in this pandemic time. You need to keep your immune system. Like Sho-san said, don't force yourself.

Looking forward to another insta live!

is when ARASHI decided to put their「untitled」concert on their Youtube channel for a limited time to encourage staying at home during this pandemic. WOW.

ARASHI's announcement on Twitter (ENG subbed by them!):

What amazed me from this concert other than the songs and the screen display is the way they use the lighting + fans' penlights.

So beautiful. I can't stop looking at them.

To be honest, I've only attended a couple of rock and folk concerts before, so I'm not familiar to pop/dance concert. The usual concert visual for me was HUGE speakers, amps, pedals, some unknown music instruments (usually synths), and headbanging fans. Or minimalist acoustic instruments with acapella back singers.

In conclusion, this concert feels like a theatrical show for me. Definitely not a disappointment.

Now I know, visuals are important for a concert, too. They help building the mood of the concert and thus bringing new experiences of attending a concert. My image of "Sugar" will always be those white/gold costumes with blinding light stage. (Edit: now that I've seen the concert photos, it's white/brown 🤭).

Thank you, ARASHI!

AH! I just saw IG story:

Arashi posted the official English sub of Wash Your Hands dance on Twitter, Tik Tok, and IG story (I think..)

It's so cute. Although not so accurate, it doesn't really deviate from the true meaning.

That's the post.

First, I bought bluetooth mouse! Finally. Now, I can "work".

Right, to the spoilers. I watched Voyage ep 5 and 6 which premiered on March 31, 2020.

There's making of FC message about their hiatus. Ohno-san was so nervous.

Backstage images during their greetings.

Aiba-chan, I love you so much. His smile while listening to Ohno's greetings.

Ohno-san during Sho's greetings.

Sho's story about making the 5x20 lyrics:

Ohno's concern of concert's atmosphere after hiatus announcement:

Those fans who made him trauma of uchiwas, take your responsibilities! How dare you T.T

Ohno-san's asking his Sho-chan for advise about his concert greetings after the hiatus announcement.

He actually said "Nii-san no kotoba de ii to omou yo"
My Yama heart's getting attacked.

Ohno-san, I'm a fan.

One thing for sure, I'll buy 5x20 concert DVD. It's hard listening to all the pre production talks on Voyage since I know nothing about this tour, so I found it boring. I'll get back to them after watching the concert.

That's it. Have a hot Aiba screenshot.
orenjitaiyou: (Default)
They performed 3 songs: season, A・RA・SHI , and Happiness.

We got Yama, too! OMG!!

Love this shot. The other 4 are facing towards their leader.

THE leader.

There's also Arashi's version of Wash Your Hands song.

So cute!

And because I need it in mp3 version, I converted it into one. Although I didn't cut any of the conversations bcs they overlap with the intro and outro.

Last but not least, they showed us how to properly wash our hands. What an idol group.

Yama having fun.

Aiba's hair is perfect!!!

Let me focus on Sho's round eyes for a bit. Ohno's not wrong for admiring those eyes.

Focus on Sakumiya for a moment.

Yes, as simple as that. That's my Sakumiya moment right there.

Now, back to Ninoai.

Another one.

Haha, that was worth it. Thank you for making me smile and laugh again today <3

Thank you, Arashi, for performing One Love: Reborn on 200330 CDTV Live! Live! last night. My fave from the vol. 1 reborn series. They performed:
01. One Love: Reborn
02. Kite
03. Love so sweet (with Johnny's Juniors!)
04. Happiness (Johnny's Jrs. and they incorporated A.RA.SHI, Turning Up, and Ai wo Sakebe dances!!)

Lol, who's naughty and convert those 4 performances into mp3 here!

Just finished The Quiz Show II.. Woah, what an ending. So much tears for the last 2 episodes. Kazoku Game is next, maybe some time this week. I heard rumors that Sho's even more fierce there.

Sho as MC Kamiyama
MC Kamiyama's side eyes

Update: I've finished Kazoku Game. Although I prefer this one to TQS II, I like that Sho's acting as a person who has a very dark background. I need more!!

Hmm, what's next to watch...

I understand there are haters out there, I was one of them. It started from an alien concept of an idol. I strongly believed they're made to be an eye-candy only. Didn't understand why people demand them so much. It's always unpleasant for me to talk about hatred, that's why I feel very safe and comfortable staying inside this bubble called fandom. Getting excited just because we can peek at their flexed abs, understanding a very minute gestures of them. I feel understood and that makes me warm inside (ewh, I know..).

Amidst this rage, let me just admire this soft pic

My only question from this award thing is "Eh, damenano?"
orenjitaiyou: (Default)
It's a personal sappy story. I remember it now. This is the song that my friend showed me years ago, when we were still in school. She's an Arashi fan, I'm a L'Arc fan, we're both in Japanese language club. She played the live show of this song. I didn't ask how she get it, probably somewhere illegal. I didn't prefer slow songs that time, except for Blink 182's Stay Together for the Kids (yeah, I was your typical emo girl back then, lol), but I was mesmerized by his performance. His singing and the way he's swaying his whole body. I even asked a copy of that show from my friend. I confirmed it with her yesterday that this was that song. She's grown out of Arashi and anything Japanese-related now, which is a shame, because I couldn't fangirl with her now. Sorry, I underestimated this band back then, friend.

I never thought I could listen to this song again on Youtube.

I wish I still had that live show DVD. But, even if I did, I doubt it'll still work. I only remember parts of it. I think Ohno-san's wearing white shirt and black pants? I didn't even know his name back then. I'm bad at remembering Japanese names.
I know that they just announced ARAFES 2020. I can't vote, but how I wish Ohno-san would sing this again at the rebuilt National Stadium.

On other note, March 16, 2020 marks the 3 years of Ohno-san's announcement of the end of his radio show at Yokohama FM. I've been listening to any available AD recording there is on Youtube. He said it's because Kurihara-san's show was also ending. But, really can't he do his own radio show? Why is it ending and no renewal? Even only 5 mins a day, I'd love to hear his radio voice again. Was there not enough listeners? With only less than a year being in the entertainment industry, I wish he would consider going back as a radio DJ. Well, the possibility is almost zero, though. sigh...

Meanwhile, on a personal note, I've finally decided to buy HDD and bluetooth mouse. It's coming next week I think. I never spent that much money in one delivery before. It kinda scares me... Really, the power of a fangirl scares me sometimes. It's so similar to a real life crush, where you would do anything to be closer to the person and somehow, your movements are conducted around things that are connected to him. The difference is the presence of an idol is not real. Scary.

That's all folks! I'm off enjoying my lockdown with a bunch of Satoshi's radio recording.
orenjitaiyou: (Default)
Well, well, well.

After installing JPN keyboard on my laptop and finally can search Arashi's videos in Japanese, I found an old interview of one of Johnny's dance instructor praising Ohno's dance. He said that Ohno's dance is more beautiful than his.

I've found the JPN transcript of that interview, translate it by myself with the help of many translation sites (I'm not a translator, that's for sure), and tried to hardsub that short clip after learning it from SSG. It's so basic and the timing is super gross, but it was fun. Makes me want to finally buy a bluetooth mouse. Working with a touch pad is inconvenient.

Of course I can't share it here because I don't have permission to share the video and the transcript. It's just for my own entertainment. But, it's a fun way to kill time on a slow Sunday. I might continue this for some time.

Now, I'm considering to buy Premiere Rush, because the one I'm using now is very limited... Should I? Or should I use the money to buy new HDD and mouse?
